Philadelphia, PA − July 16, 2026 − State Senator Art Haywood (D–Montgomery/Philadelphia) announced today that $4.5 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) awards have been distributed to support local area improvement projects.
RACP Award Recipients:
- Chew & Wister, LP — Shoppes at LaSalle Improvements: $1,500,000
- Quintessence Theatre Group — Sedgwick Theater Renovations and Construction: $500,000
- Mount Airy USA (d/b/a Mt. Airy CDC) — Simon Recreation Center III Renovations: $1,500,000
- Jenkintown School District — Renovations & Pavilion Construction: $500,000
- Springfield Township Middle School — Additions and Renovations: $500,000
“These organizations and school districts work tirelessly to improve the health and social wellness of our communities,” said Senator Haywood. “I’m grateful to return state dollars to these local building projects that will create jobs. By strengthening shopping, entertainment, learning and recreational spaces, we’re laying a foundation of success for future generations.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget. Funded projects support the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historic improvements.
