Letter of Support
To: Members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly
From: The Undersigned Coalition of Labor Representatives, Community Organizations, and Local Businesses
Dear Members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly,
We, the undersigned organizations and advocates representing working families across Pennsylvania, write to express our strong support for legislation to increase Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to at least $15 per hour by January 1, 2027.
There is dignity in hard work. Yet Pennsylvania’s minimum wage has remained at $7.25 an hour since 2009, leaving many full-time workers struggling to afford necessities. No one who works full-time should live in poverty.
Raising the minimum wage is both a moral and economic imperative. Higher wages will help working families achieve greater financial stability, strengthen local economies, and ensure Pennsylvania remains competitive with neighboring states that have already increased their minimum wages.
We urge the General Assembly to swiftly pass legislation establishing a path to at least $15 per hour by 2027 and affirm the value of the workers who keep our Commonwealth moving forward every day.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned Organizations, Businesses and Community Advocates
