November 1, 2024 – State Senator Art Haywood (D-Montgomery/Philadelphia) announced today that $5.3 million dollars in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) awards have been distributed to local area improvement projects.
“Investing in local building project improvements is not just an investment in the infrastructure of our communities, it is an investment in the people who make our communities succeed,” Haywood said. “From preserving historic landmarks and increasing access to the arts, this funding serves our communities now and will help lead us to a successful future.”
The following organizations received RACP awards:
- Abington Township – Abington Inclusive Park and Playground – $350,000
- Beth Sholom Synagogue Preservation Foundation – Synagogue Dome Repair – $1,200,000
- Cheltenham Township – Public Works Facility – $450,000
- Chestnut Hill College – School of Nursing Expansion – $400,000
- Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church – Enon Security and Safety Perimeter and Facility – $750,000
- Friends of the Wissahickon – Wissahickon Valley Park Historic Structures Rehabilitation – $350,000
- Golaski Labs LP – Golaski Labs Community Hub – $500,000
- Salem Baptist Church – Church Campus Renovations – $350,000
- Quintessence Theatre Group – Sedgwick Theater Renovations – $600,000
- Woodmere Art Museum – Woodmere Art Maguire Hall Renovation – $350,000
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget. Programs that receive funding fall under the categories of acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
