Governor’s COVID-19 Recovery PlanGovernor’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan

Governor Wolf announced a plan to begin reopening the state by region, starting on 8 May. In addition, construction for residential and commercial construction is scheduled to reopen beginning 1 May subject to county limitations.

Governor’s Wolf’s plan is in three phases: red, yellow, and green. Right now, the entire state is in the “red” phase. The Governor and the Pennsylvania Department of Health will monitor data starting with the North-central and Northwest regions of the state that may reopen with restriction on 8 May. Philadelphia and Montgomery county will be among the last regions to reopen.

Employers across the state are in need of hiring thousands of critical roles, listed on a new online COVID-19 job portallaunched by the PA Department of Labor & Industry. The portal is updated daily so businesses in need are spotlighted and people searching for employment have the latest job information.

Local Testing Site Updates

testing sitesThe Rite Aid testing site at 7401 Ogontz Ave has expanded its testing capabilities to include seniors 65 and older and anyone with a physician’s referral. The site is continuing to test first responders and health care workers with symptoms. Pre-registration is required at https://www.riteaid.com/. Registrants must be 18 or older and have government-issued ID. Testing is available from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., seven days a week. Please call (215) 224-9997 if you have questions.

AFC Urgent Care, located at Cheltenham Mall/Greenleaf at Cheltenham, 2385 W Cheltenham Ave, Wyncote, PA 19095, is offering walk-up testing, Monday-Friday. To be tested, you must be screened via TeleCare in advance. To schedule a screening, visit www.afcurgentcarecheltenham.com and click “Book a Virtual Visit Online.”

Health Center 9 at 131 E. Chelten Avenue is offering COVID-19 testing by appointment only. Please call (215) 685-2933 Monday to Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or Wednesdays 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

COVID-19 by County Tracker

Penn State has created an online tracker of COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania by county. The tracker shows information on total positive cases and new cases per day. The tracker is updated daily based on data collected by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and includes additional COVID-19 resources.

Medical Supplies Donations

medical suppliesThe Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency has launched the PA Critical Donation Portal. This tool is designed for organizations, individuals, or businesses to donate critical medical supplies to healthcare professionals in need. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is in high demand. PPE includes masks, face masks with shields, hand sanitizer, protective gloves, and goggles. More information for PPE can be found here. Carryout PA

CarryoutPA websiteEarlier this week, the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association launched CarryoutPA, an online list of restaurants offering takeout, delivery, or pickup in the Commonwealth. Type in your zip code and the site generates food options based on your location and food preference. This is a useful tool to support local businesses affected by the pandemic shutdown.
