Olney Steak & BeerOn October 19, the Liquor Control Board opposed the renewal of the liquor license for Olney Steak and Beer at 5606 N. Broad St.. Local Projects Land Millions in State Grants

More than $5 million in state grants have been award to the 4th District in the past 18 months, including $3 million recently.  Abington Hospital and Mt Airy USA each received state grants of $1 million.  Abington Hospital will utilize the funding to make substantial renovation in the Widener Building.  Abington Hospital is a major health-care provider and employer in the region and an investment in them is an investment in us.  Mt. Airy USA will invest in renovating the Sedgwick Theatre on Germantown Avenue and revitalizing certain retail commercial areas in Northwest Philadelphia.  This grant is to create jobs and energize and reinvigorate businesses and commercial activity.  Both Abington Hospital and Mt. Airy USA have raised additional dollars for these efforts. The Free Library of Philadelphia also received a $1 million state grant to renovate existing library facilities throughout the city including the Lovett Memorial Libary located at Sedgwick and Germantown Avenue.
